Alternator pulley identified as source of irritating Transit engine noise

Any strange noise while driving, coming from a vehicle can be very annoying and the frustration grows if the source cannot be easily located. ALLDATA Repair recently found a solution for a driver of a Ford transit that was experiencing strange noises from the engine bay.

The popular vehicle in question was a 2016 Ford Transit 2.0L EcoBlue that had a strange noise coming from the engine bay when being driven. A further issue was a random starting problem.

Despite a thorough diagnostic scan, no DTCs appeared, nor did any recorded issues. The workshop was perplexed by the noise and after lots of testing and looking contacted ALLDATA. Its Repair professionals were able to come up with an answer. They identified the alternator pulley as the cause. To solve the problem the alternator SIMPLY needed to be removed and the pulley replaced.

This is apparently a quite common issue on this van which many drivers simply put up with. However, replacement of a simple part, readily available across a number of aftermarket ranges stocked by motor factors can provide a simple end to the irritation.
