Battery technology leader, GS Yuasa, have announced the launch of their brand new GYAUX9 auxiliary battery at the prestigious Automechanika Birmingham exhibition. This innovative auxiliary battery is specifically designed for a wide range of Volvo vehicle types, offering the optimum solution for their dual battery systems.
In addition to the launch, the GYAUX14 battery also joins the ever-growing GS Yuasa Auxiliary range line up which is the widest of any manufacturer and now features 12 dedicated batteries, with a further 15 batteries listed as auxiliary fit options.
The GYAUX9 is suitable for a wide range of Volvo vehicle types, including the popular S60 and XC90. It is a 12 Volt battery delivering 8.4Ah 120 A (EN). With 12 Volt, 12.6Ah and 200 A (EN), the GYAX14 battery is designed for a wide range of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes auxiliary applications.
James Hylton, Automotive Market Leader at GS Yuasa Battery Europe, said, “We are delighted to have launched the GS Yuasa GYAUX9 auxiliary battery. This is this latest addition to our ever-growing auxiliary range and significantly expands our coverage of vehicles in the European parc.”
He added, “Along with exceptional service, supply and support, we are passionate about providing our customers with the widest range of batteries available to ensure they are able to meet the demands of an ever-evolving vehicle parc and the aftermarket. In addition to our extensive range of starter and auxiliary batteries for all vehicle types, GS Yuasa is the only major manufacturer to produce lead acid, lithium-ion starter and lithium-ion drivetrain batteries, ensuring all future market requirements are covered.”
Auxiliary batteries are used alongside traditional starter batteries in next generation vehicles, conventional vehicles, hybrids and EVs. They are not used for engine starting or to power vehicle traction systems. Instead they are used to supply power to accessory and safety systems and computer controls, enhancing safety, comfort, and efficiency.
The demand for auxiliary batteries has rapidly increased over recent years and will continue to grow throughout the decade as manufacturers increasingly rely on ‘always on’ functionality and increased 12 Volt auxiliary power demands in mild hybrid to full electric vehicles.
The new models will be available from GS Yuasa stockists from the end of the month.
