The 2018 'Parts for Cars' Irish Rallycross Championship heads to Mondello Park on April 8 for the first round of the year with a further two day event on April 21 and 22.
Postponed from last month, because of uncertainty due to the weather, the opener sees the competitors raring to go on the first Sunday of the month.
Later in April as part of an innovative revamp of the championship there will be a double event for round two. This will see Rallycross competitors perform in front a huge audience as it runs run alongside the opening round of the hugely popular Irish Drift Championship (IDC).
Roddy Greene General Manager of Mondello Park says; “We are excited about the Irish Rallycross 2018 calendar. We are aiming to build on the success of the 2017 season and want to showcase Irish Rallycross to a new audience, the April combined event will definitely bring rallycross to a new audience and will make for a great weekend for motorsport fans. Irish Rallycross remains one of the most exciting forms of motorsport for spectators and drivers and we except this year to be one to remember.
Rallycross as a spectacle is right up there with the best that Motorsport has to offer and Ireland has a rich history in International Rallycross, with Irish drivers having competed successfully around the world. We believe that Rallycross has the potential to be the biggest motorsport in Ireland within the next few years and we’re happy to be at the forefront of making that potential a reality.”
