Global motion technology company Schaeffler will be showcasing its complete portfolio of repair and service solutions for combustion engines, hybrids and electric vehicles at the world's leading aftermarket trade fair Automechanika Frankfurt from 10 to 14 September 2024.

Under the banner of "Sustaining Motion. Pioneering Future.", this year’s trade fair appearance has something very special to offer. Schaeffler is presenting its Automotive Aftermarket division as ‘Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions’ (VLS) for the first time. This new name reflects Schaeffler's strong commitment to the further development of the division, along with sustainable innovation, technological progress, and new tailor-made customer solutions.

Digitalization and e-mobility are becoming increasingly important in the evolving mobility ecosystem. Schaeffler VLS will continue to develop the brand's established strengths as well as new technologies and innovations.

Jens Schüler, CEO Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions, said, "To remain one of the leading providers of vehicle repair and service solutions in the future, we are strengthening our core business and adapting it to the new circumstances. We will also open new business opportunities in the mid-term."

The division's new strategic focus encompasses products, repair solutions and services for the traditional automotive aftermarket, whilst also prioritising the development of new technologies, including electrically powered, digitally connected, and automated mobility solutions.

Jens continued, “The integration of automotive supplier Vitesco Technologies is an important step in this transformation. Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions is therefore expanding its portfolio to include key technologies for the electrification of the powertrain in response to the growing demands of the market to develop innovative solutions for the future of mobility.”

This primarily includes the expansion of the range of thermal management systems as well as the development of hybrid modules and integrated electric axles. Among the many highlights is the NOx Sensor from Vitesco Technologies, which will also be presented at Automechanika in Frankfurt. It precisely and continuously measures the nitrogen concentration in the exhaust gas of diesel vehicles, contributing to cleaner emissions.

At Automechanika Frankfurt 2024, Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions will present its comprehensive offering in three main areas. This is a direct result of the division's agenda: future-ready technology, market-centric products, and customer-oriented services. Each of these areas reflects Schaeffler's core competences and innovative strength.

On the Schaeffler stand, the company will be presenting the latest developments and innovations that support the transition to electric mobility and intelligent, connected vehicles. As well as the NOx Sensor, innovations on display will include the Schaeffler Mover, a scalable platform for autonomous shuttles, and the OmniFusion 3D printer, capable of cost-effectively printing repair components in various metals to meet specific requirements. The use of green steel and other sustainable materials will also be highlighted.

Schaeffler will be showcasing a wide range of repair solutions and products to meet the current and future requirements of the mobility ecosystem. These include the LuK K0 disconnect clutch repair kit for hybrids, the second-generation INA thermal management module and the latest generation wheel bearings inside FAG WheelSets. All products are designed to support workshops, efficiently mastering the growing challenges of e-mobility and digitalization in the future.

To offer its customers outstanding service, Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions provides a range of digital innovations and services. With the REPXPERT service brand, the division supports workshops in carrying out repairs efficiently and professionally and prepares them for making repairs in future vehicle generations with a comprehensive program of special tools and training. For example, Schaeffler is developing intelligent product solutions in the field of e-mobility and will demonstrate at Automechanika how garages can professionally carry out engine and transmission repairs on technically sophisticated electric vehicles using Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem G and RepSystem M repair solutions.

Visitors can also learn more about Schaeffler OneCode at the show: This unique QR code can be found on all Schaeffler VLS packaging and extends the company's digital service offering with a simple and efficient solution.
