UFI Filters, a leader in filtration and thermal management solutions as well as technologies for the development of hydrogen mobility, will debut in the 2024 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) together with British driver John Newell of the NWT Motorsport Team.

The European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) is one of the most exciting competitions in the world of motor racing, where giant racing trucks compete on breathtaking circuits across Europe. The ETRC is run by the FIA and comprises a series of races that take place throughout the season on renowned European circuits, such as Nürburgring in Germany, Le Mans Bugatti Circuit in France and Jarama Circuit in Spain. The debut this year will be in Italy, at the Misano circuit on 25-26 May.

Since its first events in the 1980s, the ETRC has attracted the attention of motoring enthusiasts around the world, thanks to its unique combination of power, speed and driving skills. Today, the European Truck Racing Championship continues to thrive as one of the most spectacular events on the motor racing calendar, attracting an average of 420,000 spectators each season and capturing the imagination of millions through television broadcasts and online streaming.

Karl Ridings, Sales Director & General Manager UK & Ireland – Aftermarket of UFI Filters, comments,  “It’s a great honour to start our collaboration with John Newell, who represents the right personification of our UFI Filters values. Furthermore, this partnership marks UFI’s debut in a racing championship that is followed all over Europe. This is an important step in strengthening our image in the Heavy Duty sector, which has been a major focus for us in recent years.”

John Newell comments: “My team and I are in truck racing because we love trucks, we love haulage and the community that comes with it! So I want to thank UFI Filters Group for their trust. Working with such a strong partner helps me to concentrate on the racing and give my best in this spectacular championship.”

For the on-road version of the MAN TGS truck, UFI Aftermarket’s heavy vehicle customers can count on an extensive range of the company’s OE equivalent filter products, all available in its online catalogue www.ufi-aftermarket.com.
