I think I may have said this before, but it’s worth repeating, customers who have a go first before bringing the vehicle in, without informing you that they have made an attempt, can be the biggest headache.
If only they would tell us that they have tried and things haven’t worked out well, then we would have a good idea of the problem and could save a lot of time trying to figure out, how things got in the position they are. This will save our time and their money.
When this 2006 VW Touran 2.0 TDi was bought to me, the owner was upfront and told me straight away what had happened. He was changing the front speakers, to give a better audio experience, and had diligently followed the instructions, he had seen on the internet.
The door panel popped off ok and all seemed to be going well, until he attempted to pop the panel back in place. The poppers refused to fasten the door.
Although the door panel poppers can normally be re-used, unless they are positioned correctly or if they have become brittle, this is not always the case.
