Mirka had a stand at Automechanika which was able to showcase various innovative products through practical demonstrations. This meant that visitors could see various abrasives and equipment items in use and in many cases get hands on themselves to really see the benefits of Mirka technology.

Mirka develops and manufactures advanced sanding and polishing machines, providing outstanding ergonomic and functional benefits to users. One of the latest tools making its mark in Frankfurt was the new Mirka FBS-B battery file belt sander. This is ideal for cleaning up welding seams and spot welds in collision repair and vehicle restoration.

With a powerful and long-life brushless electric motor, the smooth, quiet, and lightweight Mirka FBS-B file belt sander is easy to handle and requires no air line. It is accompanied by Mirka’s line of file belts and surface conditioning belts that provide a high removal rate and a good surface finish in grinding spot welds and removing paint. The Mirka FBS-B battery file belt sander is available in two models with different belt widths, the FBS-B 13 and FBS-B 10. Cordless, balanced, and ergonomically designed, the sander offers great flexibility and ease of use. It features a light to illuminate the work surface and protective flap. It has a simple speed adjustment and Bluetooth connectivity to monitor operations.

Other equipment gaining attention on the sand included DEROS II and DEOS II Sanders and the Abranet and Galaxy range of abrasive, highlighting how Mirka is able to offer sanding solutions for bodyshops that are virtually dust free.

Another head turner on the stand was the AIROS automated, robotic, industrial, random orbital sander, which is now being used by car manufacturers, for example in the Volkswagen Wolfsburg plant.
