The joint Ring and OSRAM stand at the Garage and Bodyshop event included lots of interesting and innovative products for vehicle and workshop lighting and battery and tyre maintenance. 

Making a big impression was a new concept in inspection lighting, a Ring LED fully flexible strip light. This very useful piece of kit has magnetic handles which means it can be easily attached to a vehicle, while the bright LEDs provide plenty of illumination. It can also produce different lighting patterns and colours. 

The unit has a multitude of uses, with even more applications discovered when it was put through its paces in garage testing. The fast recharging light is ideal for under bonnet inspection, but can also be attached to illuminate the inside of a wheel arch. It also has many uses in other trades and in the home.   

Reflecting the company’s expertise in battery maintenance equipment, the Ring team were also demonstrating Ring’s new battery analyser (RBAG950). This can provide a complete health check of the battery and electrical systems in both 12V and 24V vehicles and is suitable for AGM, EFB, gel and LiFePO4 lithium, as well as start/stop batteries. The unit is able to test the battery, alternator, starter and vehicle earth, via its intuitive graphical interface. The results can then be printed using the built-in thermal printer, viewed on other devices by using the removable SD card, or even through the QR code. 

The battery analyser can give workshops a quick and effective tool for identifying battery and electrical problems and boosting business. It is supplied with a three metre cable, to not only allow further reach, but also allow the technician to sit in the front seat and start the ignition while holding the unit, thus making it a single person process. 

Ring’s new flat tyre repair kit, RTK6, which includes a Particle Gel Sealant and RAC610 inflator was also on display. This easy to use, TPMS safe, kit makes roadside tyre repair quick, easy and safe. It is suitable for use in cars, 4x4s, motorhomes and vans.
