AkzoNobel is stepping up its support to the vehicle refinisher in Ireland with the creation of an independently owned distribution partner dedicated to the Irish market.

Synergy Vehicle Refinishing Solutions Ireland Ltd (Synergy VRSI) retains the global strength and support of AkzoNobel, but, as an independent company, it will be able to respond to changing local needs more quickly and flexibly. From 30 November 2015, Synergy VRSI will become the sole importer and distributor in the Republic of Ireland of all of AkzoNobel’s vehicle refinish paint brands including Sikkens, Lesonal and Dynacoat as well as Sikkens Autocoat BT and Masons products.

AkzoNobel has a clear strategy to grow market share in Ireland with a focus on the needs of local customers. This strategy has led to the appointment of Synergy with Peter Daly spearheading the  new operation. Currently Managing Director of AkzoNobel Ireland, Peter and his team will bring unrivalled experience and knowledge of the local marketplace.

Peter said, “This move will set us on a spring board for further growth and we are looking forward to strengthening relationships with existing customers and suppliers, as well as increasing our customer base.” He added, “We will continue to be a solutions provider to bodyshops and build success for our customers through a genuine partnership. Customers can be assured that Synergy will deliver the same quality products and an expanded suite of services and technical support as offered by AkzoNobel today, based from our new distribution and training centre.”

AkzoNobel’s Jon Amor, VR Premium Sales Manager, UK & Ireland, commented, “The fact that many of the team at Synergy are former AkzoNobel staff strengthens the theme of continuation with our customers.  The creation of a dedicated distribution company for Ireland means we can focus on the local customers’ needs, backed by the full global strength and support of AkzoNobel.”

Synergy will operate out of a new office and training centre facility in Dublin.
