The Mirka experts point out that preventive maintenance is crucial for durability, helping a bodyshop to get the maximum benefit from their equipment. Mirka also encourage customers to take diligent care of their tools, as it plays a crucial role in prolonging the product's lifetime, which can contribute to reducing waste and the need for frequent replacements. This helps conserve natural resources and minimizes the environmental footprint associated with tool production and disposal. 

With regard to sanders, maintenance tips include; 

• Regular cleaning to make sure it is free from dust, filler and paint. 
• Exclusively using the correct Mirka backing pads that are designed for optimal performance. 
• Change the backing pad when it is worn to reduce vibration. 
• Ensuring the tool is never picked up by the cable. 
• Not wrapping the cable around the machine. 

With regard to dust extractors, Mirka recommends; 

• Regular cleaning of unit 
• The filter needs to be cleaned on a daily basis for optimal results
• Check and clean the dust filter without removing it
• If needed, remove the dust filter and continue cleaning it
• When needed, change the dust filter
• If there is a possibility of hazardous dust, it is important to replace the filter before resuming the use of the dust extractor.
• Changing the dust bag regularly. Get into a daily, weekly or monthly routine, depending on the application.
