Spraygun and bodyshop equipment specialist SATA had a very busy stand at the Garage and Bodyshop Event in the NEC, with lots of interest in its latest innovations. As well as the stand the SATA team were also giving product demonstrations in the Bodyshop Live spraybooth. 

Attracting particular interest was the its SATAjet X 5500 RP 1.3 Clearcoat edition, a gun that allows painters to more easily achieve the ultimate clearcoat finish. It features a newly developed, special nozzle set, based on I-nozzle jet geometry, which allows better controlled application with fine, homogeneous atomisation for the perfect clear coat finish. 

The gun also delivers improved coverage, saving on expensive materials. The SATAjet X 5500 RP 1.3 Clearcoat edition comes with RP 1.3cc nozzle technology and an integrated pressure gauge in an eye catching design with a red gun body and black control elements. 

The SATA Rapid Clean System was also on display with the team able to explain how it can speed up the gun cleaning process while minimising the dangers of colour contamination.  The RCS allows spray gun cleaning both inside and outside the spraybooth. It is a compact, pneumatically operated cleaning system made of stainless steel which can be mounted at a convenient working height within the booth or in the mixing room. 

In combination with the use of disposable cups, the painter can clean the material passage of the spray gun quickly and effectively, with reduced solution and without leaving any paint residues behind. The spray gun has to simply be held into the cleaning compartment of the device. With the spray gun connected to the air line and automatically reduced spray pressure, material passages and air cap of the spray gun are cleaned. This can facilitate a colour change in less than 30 seconds with no risk of contamination.
