Syrox puts SMART repair process on the fast track

Syrox, the latest refinish brand from Axalta Coating Systems, which is distributed in Ireland by Crown Paints, is helping to maximise profit opportunities for bodyshops in the increasingly important area of fast track repairs.

A prime example of this is James Alpe Accident Repair Centre in Lancashire which has recorded an increased throughput of some 20% in its fast track SMART repairs since the paint system was introduced in 2017.

In business for 25 years, James Alpe is much more than a standard repair centre, handling unusual vehicle conversions, like police force vans and ambulances, motor home repairs, and vehicle graphics. MD Lee Shaw says, “Our Fast Track repairs are all about a quick turnaround. They are aimed at walk-in customers who might have a small scratch and don’t want to get their insurance companies involved. But it is a very competitive, price-sensitive market. So, when our paint distributor approached us about Syrox we were very interested because it was backed by Axalta and it was so competitively priced.” He adds, “It’s like a breath of fresh air. Our painters love working with Syrox.”

In the 12 months since James Alpe switched to Syrox, the company has expanded its Fast Track area to accommodate the increased business it has attracted. Lee comments, “Syrox has made us very competitive in the SMART repair market, and thanks to its ease of use, we have been able to increase our throughput by close to 20%”.

Syrox is an easy to use, conventionally-applied refinish system that is economical and delivers accurate colour matches. James Alpe is just one example of a bodyshop that recognised the benefits of Syrox and has used it to increase business and to grow its customer base.
