Wicklow based Racing Driver, and Nissan Generation Next ambassador, Sean Doyle has announced a new partnership with Irish Le Mans Endurance Racing Team, Murphy Prototypes.

The rising star of Irish Motor Racing, who is currently leading the ASK Supercar Championship at home in Ireland, will now become a Murphy Prototypes supported young driver.

As part of his programme Sean will work with the team over the coming season to broaden his knowledge and prepare for a future career in International Sportscar Racing. Having attended the recent Silverstone round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) Sean has been invited to join the team for the remaining races of 2015, where he will be given an insight into what is involved in running in a major International Race Series.

Murphy Prototypes is the only Irish owned team competing in the ELMS and at the famed Le Mans 24 Hour race. Team owner, Dubliner Greg Murphy, who also manages the career of some of Sportscar racing's top drivers, has agreed to mentor Doyle. As part of this, Sean will benefit from Murphy's knowledge and experience in the fields of sponsorship activation and driver management as well as being introduced to teams and relevant people in the ELMS and particularly the LMP3 class, where Doyle hopes to race in the near future.

Speaking after his first taste of the ELMS Doyle said, “I'm very grateful to Greg Murphy for this opportunity. I attended the Silverstone race and it was a real eye opener as I had never before worked with a team with this level of commitment and professionalism. The step up from what we do in Ireland to the ELMS is incredible and I have a lot to learn. Even the simple thing of being able to listen in to the radio conversations between the drivers and engineers during the race thought me a lot. Greg has already introduced me to a number of people who will be important to know in the future, as well as giving me some fantastic opportunities to offer to sponsors and I can't wait to get to the next event at Imola.”

Speaking about Sean Doyle working with Murphy Prototypes, Greg Murphy said, “I met Sean for the first time at a Corporate event in Mondello Park and he has kept in touch with me ever since. I've been really impressed by his results on track, his ability with people off the track and how hard he has worked to get where he is. I'm happy to be able to assist Sean to expand his knowledge through working with us and hopefully the experience of being involved with Murphy Prototypes and the ELMS will motivate him to work even harder towards competing on the international stage.”

Sean Doyle will have a busy season in 2015 as he continues to compete at home with the aim of winning the ASK Supercar Championship. At the same time he will continue to work with Murphy Prototypes while searching for the backing to get himself behind the wheel of a LMP3 Sportscar at the earliest opportunity
