Diversified technology company 3M is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its best-selling E-A-R brand Classic Hearing Protector with a new educational microsite, Discovery Kits, and free prize draw.

Made from a soft, energy absorbing polymer, E-A-R brand Classic earplugs provide comfortable hearing protection for automotive workers. E-A-R brand Classic was the world’s first foam ear plug and 40 years on, remains one of the most widely-used earplugs across the globe with more than 72 million pairs sold worldwide in 2012.

The new microsite, which can be accessed at www.3M.eu/classic, is dedicated to promoting the benefits of this small yet essential product. Visitors to the site will be able to view new videos introducing the market-leading features of the earplugs, download useful product information highlighting the key benefits for end users in the automotive sector, and apply for their free E-A-R brand Classic Discovery Kit. Each kit contains a glossy poster showing how to fit the earplugs, informative literature on how and where to use, and ten pairs of E-A-R brand Classic Earplugs. As an added bonus, each kit request will also be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of ten Peltor Bluetooth Headsets by 3M.

Rob Green, product manager from the Personal Safety division of 3M commented, “For forty years, E-A-R brand Classic earplugs have been one of the most popular choices in the automotive industry thanks to the protection, comfort and ease of fit they offer. It’s our hope that visitors to the new site will find all the information they need to select E-A-R brand Classic earplugs, as well as giving them the opportunity to test the product for themselves and experience first-hand the qualities that have made this world-first product a best-seller.”

To be in with a chance of winning one of ten Peltor Bluetooth Headsets by 3M, visit www.3M.eu/classic and request your E-A-R brand Classic Discovery Kit before 12 August 2013.
