BestDrive by Continental, a leading provider of automotive maintenance and car servicing in Ireland, will be undertaking a nationwide rollout of the Texaco Havoline PitPack across all of its 29 locations. The decision follows a successful trial that demonstrated the system’s ability to optimise workshop space and efficiency.
“We are excited to expand the Texaco Havoline PitPack programme to all BestDrive locations,” said Declan Walsh, Training and Health & Safety Manager at BestDrive. “Given the varying viscosity requirements from vehicle OEMs, the PitPack stand offers an efficient and organised solution, allowing us to safely store up to six different types of engine oil. This setup increases our total Havoline oil options to eight, with plans to expand further by adding more oil types using additional PitPack stands. This system not only meets the diverse needs of our customers, but also supports less energy consumption and use of recyclable materials.”
Declan added, “The trial showcased the system’s effectiveness in helping reduce waste and streamlining operations, both of which align perfectly with our wider commitment to lowering our carbon intensity.”
Texaco Havoline PitPack is a storage, display and dispensing system for engine oils, with each rack holding up to six cartons. Each corrugated carton holds 20 litres of engine oil, sealed in a self-collapsing polyethylene liner bag. The boxes are easily stacked to allow garages to stock a wider range of viscosities without taking up the space of a tank or multiple drums. Additionally, the new packaging concept uses 85% less plastic than the previous 20 litre plastic pails.
BestDrive initially trialled Texaco Havoline PitPack at its Ballymount and Drogheda locations. Staff appreciated the user-friendly design, as well as noting a significant improvement in storage efficiency. Declan commented, “The six-box rack eliminates the need for bulky drums, helps reduce oil waste, and is backed up by strong support, thanks to their long-standing partnership with Certa, the official distributor of Texaco Lubricants in Ireland. Our partnership with Certa has been instrumental in our success. For many years, they have provided exceptional service, a wide range of Texaco’s lubrication solutions, and valuable marketing and technical product support.”
Lubricants Account Manager Certa Ireland, Tara Haberlin said, “We are delighted to be long term partners with BestDrive Ireland and have built an enduring relationship by adding value to all three brands – BestDrive, Texaco Lubricants and Certa.”
BestDrive is actively working towards reducing its carbon intensity, which includes collaborating with suppliers to minimise plastic packaging across its product lines.
