Brakes supplier Brembo has received the Daimler Supplier Award in Sustainability. The company was acknowledged as a top supplier in Sustainability in 2019, in recognition of a comprehensive, systematic, holistic sustainability approach and CO2 reduction in its in-house production.

Cristina Bombassei, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer of the Bergamo-based company was at Carl Benz-Arena in Stuttgart to collect the award, together with Mr Alberto Bombassei, Chairman of Brembo and Mr Daniele Schillaci, CEO of the Company. He commented, “It is a great emotion and a great honour for me, and for all Brembo people, to receive this prestigious award. We are driven by our passion for the automotive industry and we want to make sure to continue to bring this passion, together with our innovation, our values of sustainability and social responsibility,  which are pillars for both our companies, into our daily efforts as partners towards a sustainable mobility”.

The Daimler Supplier Award in Sustainability recognises a partnership of excellence between Brembo and Daimler dating back to the early 1990s, when calipers were first supplied for a number of vehicles. Thirty years on, Brembo supplies discs, calipers and often the entire brake system for top-of-the-range models produced by the German car maker, as well as brake components for commercial vehicles and for motorsport.
