The vast majority of drivers are in favour of sensors which immobilise vehicles when they detect the driver is over the legal drink-drive limit according to a recent UK survey by National Windscreens.


84% of 540 respondents said they would support the introduction of anti-drink drive technology, while only 39% would support the introduction of speed limiting systems.

66 % cent of drivers surveyed said they would buy a new vehicle kitted out with alcohol detection technology in order to benefit from a lower insurance premiums.

Commercial Director for National Windscreens Pete Marsden commented, "These results clearly demonstrate the high level of support for innovation designed to minimise drink driving. There is a clear opportunity for insurers to capitalise on this support with premiums that differentiate between vehicles with and without this safety feature."
