Gates used Automechanika to introduce a range of new products and service initiatives. There was an emphasis on a new Heavy Duty range for trucks, an expansion of the Gates PowerGrip Kit plus Water Pump range and Gates Mirco-v kit range, as well as the launch of a new trouble-shooting guide for cooling systems.

The show also saw the unveiling of an innovative Internet platform for garages. Gates TechZone (www.gatestechzone.com) is a comprehensive online technical resource for aftermarket customers; with an easy to navigate site suitable PCs as well as mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.

The site is freely accessible with no registration necessary and provides technical support as well as detailed information about product innovations, concepts and services and online training. Gates TechZone offers a wealth of operational knowledge drawn directly from the company’s OEM experience. There is also a database of tips and tricks to help users deal with known installation problems more quickly, enabling them to avoid typical installation errors. This can also be added to and undated by users.

The site also links to Gates active social media channels and harmoniously integrates with existing Gates websites and databases, such as gates.autocat.com. It can be accessed at www.gatestechzone.com.

Also attracting significant interest at the Gates stand was the specialist Power Clean Flush Tool. This innovative device is used for in-depth cleaning of cooling systems in any car and comes with a complete set of tips and connectors.
