Less than a year since its launch in Europe, the Peugeot 2008 crossover has just passed the milestone of 100,000 units produced.

The multi-award winning Peugeot 2008 has won numerous accolades in Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, Poland and Turkey since its launch. The compact crossover, Continental Irish Small Car of the Year 2014, is clear evidence of Peugeot’s move up-market, with 68% of sales of 2008 made up of level 3 and 4 trim levels.

Unveiled as a world first at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Peugeot 2008 has fast become a bestseller, with already more than 100,000 orders to its credit. Quickly attracting French customers, then those in other European countries, the excellent start to its sales has required 3 increases in production at the Mulhouse site. Production has now reached a level of 680 vehicles produced per day, which is a doubling of the rate of production since launch.

Built only at the Mulhouse site for all countries except China and those in Latin America, 73% of the Peugeot 2008 components are made in France, to label the vehicle with a Made in France Guarantee. It received 5 stars in the Euro NCAP tests and is the only vehicle in its category to offer a Grip Control technology, a system that improves traction.

The 100,000th Peugeot 2008 customer, who comes from Paris, came to the Mulhouse site for a symbolic handover of the keys from Corinne Spilios, Director of the Mulhouse site and Xavier Duchemin, Director of Peugeot France.
