The First Line Group has added 360º product imagery to its WebCat electronic parts catalogue. This latest step in the WebCat’s evolutionary development is designed to make parts identification even easier.
Advanced photographic equipment and a highly trained photographer are required to produce the high quality images, but First Line has been prepared to invest for the benefit of its customers. Group Managing Director, Dan Joyner said, “At first thought, spending £10,000 on a camera might seem excessive, but the point is it’s an investment. We take our websites very seriously as they are a very effective communication and support tool for our customers and if we can improve their effectiveness, we will.” He added, “As everyone knows, a picture paints a thousand words, but even in picture form some products are still tricky to identify. However, this is not the case with an image taken with one of these cameras and hosted through the website, as the user can rotate the images through 360º and view the part from every possible angle and therefore clearly see whether it’s the part they are looking for.”
Water pumps is the first product category First Line have chosen to initiate the new 360º image technology, and a roll out programme for more of the product groups is now well underway. First Line encourages customers and installers to visit the WebCat for all the latest additions as they go online.
