Schaeffler has also staged a student training event, as part of the ongoing Schaeffler REPXPERT ‘Wrenches & Wisdom’ campaign. The event was held at the motion technology company’s Hereford HQ with ten trainee technicians and four lecturers in attendance from Herefordshire, Ludlow & North Shropshire College.
The day included various technical sessions as well as a talk by ‘Womanic’, Louise Baker, who described her personal journey and how she forged a successful aftermarket career.
The ‘Wrenches & Wisdom’ campaign is also intended to inspire the whole industry. Matt Selby, Sales and Marketing Director at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd said, “It is vital that aftermarket organisations work with those undertaking vehicle maintenance and repair training,” said Matt, “so they can see first-hand how the sector is evolving. This will help them understand the inevitable progression taking place across the industry, so they are prepared for the workshop of tomorrow.”
