AkzoNobel has launched its new Lesonal 2K Graphite Filler which it says can boost productivity and profits in bodyshops. The high-performance, easy application sanding/non-sanding filler, offers flash-off times as short as 4 to 6 minutes.
Jon Amor,VR Premium Sales Manager comments, “We have designed 2K Graphite Filler to support time-critical, high-volume job schedules requiring quality output, bringing bodyshops a new level of application flexibility.” He adds, “In an increasingly competitive marketplace, Lesonal continues to focus on bodyshop efficiency, saving valuable time, streamlining stockholding and maximizing repair quality.”
Developed for use with Basecoat WB GT, Lesonal 2K Graphite Filler complements Lesonal’s current 2K Filler 540 and the 2K High Build Filler. By simply varying the ratio of Lesonal Universal Hardeners and Multi Thinners, Lesonal 2K Graphite Filler can be mixed as a medium-build sanding filler or lower-build non-sanding filler, without the need for further products.
The company says in test Lesonal 2K Graphite Filler proved to be significantly faster to apply. For coats that will be sanded, reduced flash-off times save a full five minutes in process time. For non-sanded, one-coat sprays, a job is ready to receive its topcoat within 15 minutes.
Jon Amor says, “2K Graphite Filler, requires less material per repair when compared to most competitor products, thus reducing costs. The product is specifically formulated to dry harder, faster and be easier to sand with less powdering and dust. Where panels are not sanded, dust imperfections are easily denibbed. With a reduced risk of contour mapping, jobs are smooth, blemish-free and consistent after sanding.”
Jon concludes, “With excellent sprayability and flow characteristics, refinishers can achieve a good and quick result, whether sanding or not, without sagging and with reduced flash-off times between coats. Thanks to impressive overspray absorption, the painting line can be wider using the wet-on-wet system. Where required, 2K Graphite Filler can even be used as a rolling primer. For further flexibility, and again in response to bodyshop demand, we are producing it in white, grey and black versions which are easy to match using the Lesonal GreyShades Concept.”
