Does a customising job add value to a vehicle and improve its appearance?

The jury may be out on whether this custom job has improved the look of the McLaren SLR 999 used as its base, but it has certainly put up its value, with the car now insured for €3.7 million. On show at the Dortmund MY CAR tuning show it is the work of Swiss designer Ueli Anliker, who has used some 5kg of gold plating and 600 rubies on the finish.
