Alan Mears Services, the accident repair centre based in Bray, Co. Wicklow has announced that it has successfully achieved the new Certified Steel Standard (CSS) for vehicle bodyshop repairers.
CSS is a voluntary standards programme for professional bodyshops repairers in Ireland introduced last year by the SIMI and backed by the Road Safety Authority. It incorporates the Industry standard technical specification for the process of structural vehicle body repair with the standard detailing the minimum requirements for competent personnel, appropriate and well-maintained equipment, suitable repair methods and quality of repair materials. To gain accreditation under CSS bodyshops are independently audited on these key areas.
Gavin Mears of Alan Mears Services commented, “We undertook to complete the voluntary CSS audit as we feel it is important to clearly demonstrate to our customers and to Insurance Companies that our bodyshop is committed to the highest quality and safety standards. Customers deserve the best service and standard of repairs when they experience the trauma of a crash repair.” He added, “We have been in operation for over 8 years and have worked hard to achieve these standards which we hope will benefit each and every customer that we deal with in the future. We are very proud to have achieved the Certified Steel Standards and we hope that this achievement demonstrates our level of commitment to customers, trade, fleet managers, dealerships, insurance companies and retail alike with a positive attitude going forward.”
