Vehicle technical information provider, Autodata, will be focusing on digitalisation of the garage at Automechanika Birmingham 2018. In particular the company will aim to show visitors how data can help a workshop to grow and how OEM technical information solutions can protect a business from the challenges facing the aftermarket.

Autodata says that for over 45 years it has supported workshops by providing technicians with the information they need, when they need it. Today, Autodata remains committed to ensuring that workshops are equipped with the best automotive information possible, through its online data solutions. The company says that in the UK 90% of workshops subscribe to Autodata’s solutions and are reaping the benefits of up-to-date and accurate technical information that covers 99% of vehicles on the road. Autodata’s online workshop applications are tailored for technicians and are frequently enhanced to ensure that technicians have the most accurate information and the most effective tools to carry out their jobs.

Jason Bye, an Autodata users and owner of Elite Garage Services, said, "It’s the only technical information I trust. Car manufacturers are always updating information, if you don’t have Autodata, you won’t know when a car’s data has changed, and you’ll end up using the wrong information to do your job”.

Autodata’s technical information solutions for cars, light commercial vehicles, and motorcycles are designed for speed, efficiency and easy access to service, maintenance, diagnostics and repair operations. Some of the key features in Autodata’s applications include VRM search, technical specifications, service schedules, repair times, common faults and fixes bulletins, an estimate calculator, service advisor, Assist Me (Autodata’s step-by-step diagnostic guide) and much more.

In addition to its stand Autodata will be hosting a seminar at 11:15 am in the Aftermarket Seminar Theatre on Tuesday, 5  June. This will cover how new technologies and current challenges for the aftermarket can be transformed into opportunities that will begin a new era of servicing, maintenance, and repair for aftermarket businesses.

The Autodata stand will be at R129 at the NEC from June 5th – 7th.
