In its latest Autodocta proven fixes series, Solera Autodata auto data solutions has solved a common issue on the popular Nissan Juke.
The Juke from 2015 on has an issue with a squeaking noise from the rear backrests when driving over rough roads. This can be highly annoying for drivers and passengers and is an issue which is difficult to diagnose.
Solera Autodata report that some Juke owners have reported this noise and it is due to incorrect adjustment of the rear seat backrest. The solution is to fold down the rear seat backrests and carry out road test. If the noise is no longer present, the technician should slacken the rear seat backrest mounting bolts (fig. 1.1.). Then adjust the rear seat backrest to provide adequate clearance between seat backrest latch and catch, tighten the rear seat backrest mounting bolts in the sequence shown to 45 Nm. The adjustment procedure should then be repeated for the remaining rear seat backrest.
The technician should then carry out an addition road test to ensure the squeaking noise has been eliminated.
