AutoMester member garages took on a promotional role last month with garage owners who are part of the garage concept attending the SIMI Road Show, Red Cow Hotel in October and the AutoTrade EXPO at the City West Complex in November, and convincing other prospective members to sign up to the growing network.
 
The results were impressive, with several garages now in the advanced stages of joining AutoMester and expanding its geographical spread.
 
The idea of taking on the promotional role came from the members themselves, who were keen to explain the benefits of the programme to like minded businesses. AutoMester Concept Manager Sandra Schade says, "We are increasingly finding that AutoMester garage owners talking to other garage owners is one of the most effective ways of expanding the concept. They have the best understanding of what it can do for a business and are all very enthusiastic about expanding the network.”
 
Sandra says that awareness of AutoMester has reached new heights among garages and there is a great momentum in the network with a growing national spread. She comments, "We would encourage garages interested in the concept to act now as enquiries from prospective garages are coming in fast which means network opportunities in certain areas may disappear.”
 
Existing members have reported their satisfaction with the results of the recent "Back to School” marketing campaign and are now focused on a new campaign promoting the benefits of a winter service. One of the many advantages of AutoMester is that it offers garages access to professionally presented marketing campaigns, with quality marketing tools, including a social media aspect. Sandra says, "A garage on its own usually will not have the time and resources to develop such campaigns, but with AutoMester, everything is put in place for them. The critical factor is that we know from our experience in other countries these campaigns get results and not only increase customer contact, but will actually boost business.”
 
Sandra points out that the AutoMester concept is growing in strength in Ireland on a daily basis and a large part of this is down to the enthusiasm of its members. She comments, "AutoMester really can open up great new opportunities for a garage business and we would be delighted to hear from workshop owners keen to share in its success.”
