Axalta appoints New Global OEM Technology Director

 Axalta Coating Systems, the global supplier of liquid and powder coatings and the name behind the Standox, Spies Hecker and Cromax brands in Ireland, has announced the appointment of Dr. Klemens Bartmann as Director Global Technology for the Axalta OEM business. Dr. Bartmann comes to the new from his previous position as Director Product Management for Axalta’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region.


Speaking about the appointment, Panos Kordomenos, Axalta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer said, “In this important role, Klemens will lead the global OEM technical organisation. His focus will be on developing new technologies and products to meet and to anticipate the needs of our customers.”

Dr. Bartmann brings over 20 years of experience to his new position from previous roles in product management, technology, manufacturing and sales and marketing. With his in-depth knowledge of the OEM business, he will drive Axalta’s ambitious growth targets in the OEM sectors in all regions of the world.

The appointment follows three recent Axalta investment announcements about additional waterborne coating manufacturing capacity in Germany, Brazil and China, which underscore the company’s commitment to serving growing global customer requirements for environmentally-responsible coatings.
