A series that paints the often media maligned body repair industry in a more positive light has made a welcome return to the TV screens. The second series of Cop Car Workshop is now being shown on the Dave Channel on Sunday evenings.
The show features the work of Birkenhead bodyshop, the Merseyside Car Hospital, and its efforts to keep the Merseyside Police fleet of vehicles on the road. It goes behind the scenes of the workshop and shows how a team of highly skilled engineers and mechanics help to keep the force catching criminals.
The team, headed up by experienced duo Mick Sweetmore and Tony Deus, have to deal with issues such as vehicle vandalism, high speed crashes, aging vehicles and electrical problems. It even shows how some criminals can damage cars when being transported and the effect of tight budgets on repair operations.
As well as repairs the team are also asked to get creative and produce bespoke vehicle solutions for more specialist police problems.
Cop Car Workshop is on Dave (Sky 111) on Sundays at 7pm. It is also available on catch-up.
