Blackhawk agents Roberts Automotive, were at the recent ABP Show in Manchester, displaying their range of innovative bodyshop equipment. As well as its widely known selection of advanced measuring and straightening equipment, the Blackhawk Tech-Tram, Telescopic Measuring Gauge was also attracting particular attention.

This easy to use device can provide a quick and effective means of measuring lengths, widths, and diagonals. It has a digital display and a built-in spirit level, which allows technicians to check height anomalies. It is designed for use on all straightening systems and as a diagnostic tool in combination with a 2 post hoist.

Magnetic mounts allow measuring to be carried out by just one person and results can be saved and printed. The unit comes in a protective carry case, or can be wall mounted for speedy access.

Dave Roberts says the unit has been a big seller in Europe and can be of great benefit to Irish repairers. He comments, "This is a quick and easy way to get accurate measurements on a job or as part of the estimating process. It is ideal for workshops doing lots of smaller repairs.”

Also new to the Blackhawk range was the latest Korek straightening system tower for light commercial vehicles. Dave says that the write off rate for vans is far lower than that for cars, so there is still a good volume of major LCV repair work around. The Korek tower is ideal for repairs on vans such as the Sprinter and Trafic.
