Cork-based retailer Blackwater Motors has continued its expansion programme with the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art Volkswagen Van Centre.

Blackwater Motors already operates two Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle sites, in Fermoy and Skibbereen. This latest venture, located in Sarsfields Road, Wilton, Cork, brings new investment and jobs to Co Cork.

The Van Centre has an open-plan showroom, an interior display area showcasing the entire Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles range and a 50- vehicle forecourt for Approved Used commercial vehicles. The newly-opened site is also one of only four dedicated California Centres in Ireland, specialising in the brand’s hugely popular camper product range.

At the official launch of the new site, the newly-crowned Irish Car, MPV and Van of the Year ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz cargo were on display.

Customers can explore the fully electric people mover and van and take one for a test drive to see for themselves why it is cleaning up during awards season.

Denis Murphy and David Quirke, Directors at Blackwater Motors Volkswagen, said: “Coupled with our existing sites, in Fermoy and Skibbereen, we believe we have Cork’s commercial vehicle needs completely covered. Blackwater Motors can provide practical advice for business owners and fleet managers on all aspects of van ownership as well as expert advice on camper products and life vehicles.”

Alan Bateson, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland, added: “We are delighted to open this brand new state of the art Van Centre. It is great news for customers who come here to do business, for the staff who work here in such a smart and professional environment, and, of course, the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand in Ireland. This new centre is a perfect showcase of what the brand focus on which is providing excellent customer solutions.”
