The huge number of diesel vehicles on Irish roads, means that glow plugs are now in growing demand all year round and not just over the winter months. However, as we well know February and March can often bring a serious cold snap and this will always mean a further sharp rise in glow plug sales.

Blue Print has a range that contains over 150 Glow Plug references, which cover more than 1,700 Asian and American applications. All of these plugs come with a full 3 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty, reflecting their quality and first class performance.

However, from a garage perspective, meeting Glow Plug needs is about more than just quality products and Blue Print has worked hard to develop a complete solution to make the mechanics life easier.

First off, for Glow Plug removal Blue Print offers a range of 8, 10 and 12mm, Glow Plug Sockets. These have been specifically designed for the safe removal of plugs in difficult to access areas, making the job quicker and easier and helping to avoid dreaded break offs.

Glow Plugs often become difficult to remove due to a build-up of carbon in the aperture. They can also fail prematurely from being overheated. To combat this, apertures should always be cleaned when a plug is replaced and this can be done easily using the Blue Print Glow Plug Reamer. This is suitable for engines which use M10 x 1 and M10 x 1.25 threaded Glow Plugs.

Once the aperture is clean and the correct replacement plugs have been selected, the final piece of the jigsaw is fitting the plugs. Here the most important issue is to use the correct torque. For this Blue Print offers a special Low Torque Wrench which is perfect for all low torque requirements. It allows the Glow Plugs to be fitted with precisely the right amount of torque, removing the possibility of over tightening which is another common cause of failure.

Blue Print says this complete solution for Glow Plugs for Asian and American vehicles allows technicians to perform the job right first time, making the whole process more efficient and profitable for the garage.
