While celebrating 50 years in business, BM Catalysts was also showcasing and extensive range of new product innovations on its stand at Automechanika Birmingham.

The company is the largest independent manufacturer of Catalytic Converters, Diesel Particulate Filters, Front Pipes and DPF Pressure Pipes in Europe and has recently introduced a major product expansion designed to allow the independent aftermarket to take on the Euro 5 challenge.

BM has recently expanded its Euro 5 range yet again, with the introduction of its homologated DPFs. The new products were introduced in accordance with European legislation, which dictates that all replacement DPFs intended for Euro 5 or 6 vehicles must be homologated, a point that is heavily advocated by the vehicle certification agency (VCA).

The first batch of the new Euro 5 homologated DPFs was released in April this year and Silicon Carbide (SiC) versions are now set to follow.

Despite the VCA being extremely clear in regards to legislation, there are still a number of manufacturers out there who continue to supply non-homologated DPFs for Euro 5 vehicles. We have invested a significant amount of resources into approving DPFs for Euro 5 vehicles and believe it is essential that the market understands what they should and shouldn’t be fitting.”
