BMW has produced special versions of its i3 and i8 electric cars complete with 24-carat gold in their paint jobs. However, the special finishes are all in a good cause and aimed at raising for the charitable Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation.

The special Starlight editions have gold dust infused on to the body giving a transition from gold to black. Only one of each car will be ever built, which makes these BMWs a rare collector’s items when they go up for auction.
