Boniface Engineering recently hosted an open day at their Thetford site to celebrate 30 years in business. The event was attended by customers and friends from all over Ireland, Britain and beyond who enjoyed  a day filled with demonstrations, competitions, food, drink and entertainment.

A week was spent setting up some highly demanding and technically challenging recovery demonstrations, while there were also some fun events for attendees including the Express Loading challenge where a car had to be removed from between 2 others using Midhurst Engineering's F450 fitted with Century Express, the Rotator Skills Challenge where the operator had to manoeuvre a weight between a slalom of cones without moving them using a Holmes 600R belonging to Kelly Recovery, a Slidebed Loading Challenge using a stock Midlum fitted with Champion aluminium slidebed and the immensely popular Snatch'n'Go which entailed moving 8 snatch blocks of various sizes over a set distance against the clock and attaching them to a bracket at the other end of the course. Demonstration took place throughout the day with expert commentary provides by John Hawkins and Tom Luciano of Miller Industries. This was followed by an award ceremony and a Grand Prize Draw.

Irish recovery operators attending the event put up a particularly strong showing in the recovery challenges. Some of the key results were:

Express Loading Challenge
Gold Medal Winner - Tony Cornwall from Boniface
Silver Medal Winner -  Ronan McVeigh from Kelly Recovery (Ireland)
Bronze Medal Winner - Jonathan Rogers from Unity Recovery in Leicester
