The First Line Group, under its popular Borg & Beck, brand has launched a solid flywheel clutch kit to replace the original dual mass flywheel (DMF) fitted to the 1.3-litre CDTi diesel engine used in Opel Combo, Corsa Mk 2/Mk 3, Meriva and Tigra.
The kit, with the part no. HKF1053, has been designed by the Borg & Beck clutch product team in-house at its Technical Centre in Banbury, UK, to provides garages with a unique time and money saving single kit solution for this application, containing the flywheel, clutch kit and all the necessary bolts.
Some of the most common questions asked about modern clutch technology relate to DMFs because the number of vehicles fitted with the system has grown dramatically since 2000. As a result worn or failed DMFs that need replacing have created a demand for a high quality single mass flywheel (SMF) or solid flywheel replacement kit.
The SMF clutch kit is an original equipment designed solution to the DMF and has been widely available in the European aftermarket since 2003. The worn DMF, and its associated components, are replaced by a traditional solid flywheel and a clutch kit that incorporates advanced long travel clutch damper technology. This means that it is able to deliver similar performance characteristics to the original DMF it replaces, yet with an increased lifespan, thereby reducing associated costs.
With more than 50 kits, Borg & Beck SMF kits provide garages with one of the widest ranges in the country, all covered by a two-year warranty. The complete Borg & Beck clutch range, along with fitting guides and technical bulletins can be found on the company’s WebCat at www.borgandbeck.com
