Bosal has announced that it has teamed up with global shock absorber specialist Gabriel and will now be distributing the respected brand’s products in the Irish aftermarket.

Gabriel was responsible for the design and manufacture of the world’s first shock absorber back in 1907. Today Gabriel is a successful manufacturer of OE quality gas and hydraulic shock absorbers, for both conventional suspension systems and strut type, or MacPherson strut, suspension systems. These shocks are supplied as both OE to vehicle manufacturers and to aftermarket distributors around the world.

The Gabriel aftermarket shock range mirrors the OE product employing the very latest OE technologies, utilising the OE bi-tube design and carrying the same 3-year guarantee. The range also offers excellent coverage with 1,200 references, covering 90% of the European car parc. The crucial safety role that shocks play is also reflected by Gabriel’s rigorous product tests on the roughest terrain.

Gabriel recommends shock absorbers should be changed on the axle, in pairs, every 50-60,000 miles. With thousands of cars driving on Irish roads with faulty shocks and road conditions generally poor, potential for aftermarket shock business is excellent, and Bosal believe they are now in the ideal position to help garages, fitting stations and factors meet rising demand with the Gabriel range.

Bosal is well known for its high quality exhausts and towbars and has been distributing these products from its Dublin base for 31years. Philip Flanagan M.D. at Bosal Ireland, believes Gabriel will be an important addition to their portfolio. He says, “These are exciting times for Bosal Ireland as we build a product portfolio to compliment our core products manufactured by the Bosal Group in Europe. Gabriel is a highly respected brand and we firmly believe that we can make it one of the market leaders for replacement shocks in Ireland.”
