This Sunday (August 10th) the Carlow Car Club will organise a sixteen race programme made up of Irish Championship and 'Champion of Mondello' Car Races on the Mondello Park National Circuit.
The resurgent Formula Ford and Formula Vee classes will provide the single seater action, with the Patch Fiesta Championship and a mixture of Sportscar Classes, along with the growing Future Classics, making up the rest of the day's racing.
Formula Ford returns for the first time since the very successful Formula Ford Festival, this time to compete twice for both Irish Championship and 'Champion of Mondello' points, with the circuit's series offering double points for this event. Formula Vee also returns for the first time since their recent festival event and they will contest a single championship round over their usual two races.
The Fiesta drivers will be busiest of all on Sunday with two championship rounds to be decided. This could mean four races for some drivers, as the size of the grid requires a qualification race for each round. The Fiestas will be joined in providing the saloon racing entertainment by the Future Classics class, which has grown steadily this season to provide one of the most interesting and varied grids and some fantastic racing.
The remainder of the programme will be made up of Sportscars, with the GT, Stryker and Ginetta Junior classes all racing twice.
