Car-O-Liner gets the Cadillac seal of approval
Share:

Car-O-Liner has received approval from General Motors for structural repairs on the Cadillac CT6. This project represents a partnership between General Motors and Car-O-Liner to develop a comprehensive 3-D data sheet as well as a custom adaptor kit for the proper anchoring on Car-O-Liner’s BenchRack frame alignment system to enable an effective structural repair on the luxury model.

Of course not too many repairers in Ireland are likely to encounter a Cadillac CT6, but what this approval does illustrate is how Car-O-Liner works hand in hand with global car manufacturers on repair processes and equipment development.

In this instance the collaboration between the two companies began with the sharing of 3-D engineered drawings and images. This information was then analysed to develop proper anchoring points and adaptors. Car-O-Liner has also processed a complete set of data sheets with measurement points and photos.

In addition to the CT6 mounting adaptors, Car-O-Liner was able to develop a complete solutions package for aluminium repair. The equipment includes 3-D measuring, BenchRack frame alignment, MIG welders, an aluminium repair station and an isolation bay package. Car-O-Liner also provides collision shop design services for Cadillac repairers. Utilizing 3-D modelling using the actual shop footprint, Car-O-Liner can demonstrate an optimised shop flow providing greater efficiencies with improved workflow and cycle times.

Over the years Car-O-Liner has developed similar arrangements with many other car makers, meaning repairers can have immediate access to the latest information and repair data on the most up-to-date models.
