Cathal claims oldest Autobiz prize

Last month we asked which reader had the oldest edition of Autobiz and we were delighted with the response. Lots of you had some very old versions of the publication, well before it took on its present full colour glossy format, but evidence of the oldest version to date came from Co. Mayo.

Cathal Carroll of Congress Garage, Carrowreagh, Ballyhaunis had a very well used version of the publication dating back to April 1980, when it went under the name of Crashed Cars Monthly. Since then, the business has received every edition of Autobiz, with present owner Cathal being an avid reader. He says it has been great to see how the magazine has developed with the changing motor trade market and that he finds the latest technical articles particularly informative.

Next year Autobiz will be celebrating its 38th in business, but will still be in its infancy when compared to Congress Garage, which was founded in 1932.

Cathal has received a prize package from Autobiz as owner of the oldest edition. More prizes are still on offer, so if you can do any better than his April 1980 issue, please email info@autobiz.ie.
