Clean Connaught triumphs over dirty Dublin in emissions table
Share:

New figures released by Cartell show that Dublin has the highest average Co2 emissions per vehicle, while Connaught is the cleanest province and Leitrim the cleanest county.

The figures based on all private used cars, show that Dublin vehicles are emitting considerably more Co2 on average than any other counties in Ireland, with counties surrounding Dublin generally closes behind. Grid locked Galway also fared badly with the third highest average emissions figures.

At the other end of the scale the cleanest county in Ireland for private vehicle use is Leitrim which records average Co2 of just 132.3521 per km.  Cork fared well, listed in 15th position, despite the fact it has the second highest number of vehicles per county.
