The winning clubs for the Simply Clever sponsorship competition which was run by Burns Car Sales, Sligo, main ŠKODA dealers were announced recently.

Collooney Kickboxing Club claimed first place, St. Johns GAA Club in second place and Easkey GAA club in third place in a hotly contested leader board.

Sligo was awarded the coveted title of the ‘European Town of Sport 2014’ and to celebrate this, Burns Car Sales decided to give local sports clubs the opportunity to win sponsorship prizes. 19 different clubs got involved over the period of the competition displaying great dedication and community spirit.

Speaking at the presentation, our dealer principal, John Burns said "Today is the culmination of hard work and effort from each of the clubs involved. There was a real community spirit evident throughout the weeks during the competition which was great to see. We are delighted to supply gear to the winning clubs and wish them every success while wearing it and would also like to thank the remaining clubs for taking part. Also commenting Des Leonard Chief Instructor, Collooney Kickboxing club said "This is great news for us and we’re delighted to get first prize.
