Complete solutions from Symach

Reduction is critical to key times and is something that most busy bodyshops strive for, but in many instances making design changes to an existing facility produces disappointing results. In some instances, especially when moving to new premises, the most effective solution for a bodyshop operator is to embrace the creation of a complete and totally new bodyshop concept.

As well as supplying innovative individual bodyshop equipment items, Symach offers the integrated FixLine solution, for both existing repair centres and green field sites. FixLine offers a totally new design and repair process which, when combined with Symach advanced equipment technology, can provide a 50% to 60% increase in productivity, as well as an increase of 1.5-2 repairs per week per technician. The design concept achieves this by reducing vehicle movements between the various repair stages from 7 to 3, as various stages of repair, activities themselves are carried out on the CarMover in the semi-automatic line.

Changes in the type of repairs that most bodyshops now complete, such as less structural and more aesthetic repairs, mean that many now have inefficient designs and equipment specifications. For example, most body shops employ a single repair process, which, according to Symach, while suitable for more extensive damage, is poorly suited for activities involving the 1 to 3 panels that represent nearly 85% of total repair jobs. FixLine uses three different repair and layout processes, based on the number of panels to be repaired. In this manner, the system is capable of optimising repair times and reducing labour costs by as much as four or five hours for each repair.

The FixLine concept can be adapted to make the most productive use of smaller spaces and has now been utilised by some 50 leading bodyshops in Europe. Symach provides a complete concept, design, 3D simulation, installation and equipment training service.

Symach also offers a range of advanced technology, including spraybooths and robot drying solutions, that can dramatically increase paintshop productivity, while also reducing costs.

You can find out more about the FixLine total bodyshop concept and the complete Symach equipment range at the ABP event in Croke Park, Dublin on September 8th.
