Continental has announced the expansion of its belt range for commercial vehicles, with 40 new multi V-belt types for Mercedes-Benz, MAN and DAF commercial vehicles introduced. This will be followed by further introductions covering Volvo, Scania, Renault and Iveco applications in the coming weeks.
The 40 multi V-belts for the auxiliary drive feature profile codes 4PK, 6PK, 8PK, 10 PK and 12PK which means they range from the narrow variant with four ribs to the widest with twelve. The belts are used on a range of Mercedes-Benz, MAN and DAF buses and trucks.
Continental’s new offering is aimed at independent commercial vehicle workshops and haulage companies with their own workshops.
Vehicle downtime is key to commercial vehicle operations and the new multi V-belts are made of fibre-reinforced synthetic rubber with a polyester tension member for extreme durability. Continental manufactures its drive belts for the aftermarket to the same quality standards as its original equipment products, which are specially designed to meet the requirements of modern commercial vehicle units. That means workshops operating in the aftermarket can enjoy the same proven quality as original equipment.
Continental also provides the peace of mind of registered workshops having a 5-year guarantee on the new products.
Continental product manager Robert Franz comments, “Our aim is to simplify workshops’ everyday operations and offer drive products for a manufacturer’s entire vehicle line-up from a single source, ranging from light delivery trucks through to tractor units for long-haul transport operations.”
