Cromax has provided the perfect paint finish for the Punch Powertrain Solar Team who’s car recently took 5th place in the World Solar Challenge in Australia.

The aerodynamic vehicle took part in the Challenger Class and the team were delighted with their top 5 finish out of thirty entries. Sporting Cromax coatings, and the Cromax logo, Punch One, and the young team of students that designed and built it, worked hard after over-coming numerous obstacles during the 3000km race to finish in such a strong position.

Dries Van den Bergh, Cromax Brand Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), says, “As Bronze Partners of the team, we have been following Punch One’s progress closely and we are delighted that the team has placed so high in its class. We can only imagine the frustration the students faced with the various setbacks, but to knuckle down, recover and still place so highly is really a fantastic achievement. Their dedication to teamwork, love of innovation and outstanding ambition are values that we at Cromax also uphold. We would all like to congratulate the whole team.”

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Cromax worked with the team to create bespoke and eye-catching colours for the carbon fibre car, which was prepped and painted with Cromax materials at the brand’s training headquarters for EMEA in Mechelen, Belgium, in May and June 2015.
