Dealers and bodyshops combine to keep Toyotas on the road

Toyota Dealerships across Ireland were some of the first to reopen their doors as lockdown restrictions were eased and some of the parts departments were immediately busy dealing with request for extra write-off avoidance support. A combination of rusty drivers and a backlog of work in the system meant that bodyshops often looked to the popular scheme to get additional help in keeping potential write-offs on the road.

The long established Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme targets Toyota vehicles that have been in an accident and are classified as marginal uneconomical repairs. The repairer, insurer and Toyota dealer then work together and using additional parts discounts, qualifying cars can often be repaired, meaning benefits for all parties.

Bodyshops generally find the programme quick and very easy to administer and often a convenient way to boost their own repair hours while keeping their customers happy. All too often drivers are left very disappointed with their insurer’s vehicle valuation if it is written off and can often face a considerable financial shortfall just to stay in a similar vehicle. With used car values presently healthy, especially for vehicles such as popular Toyota hybrids, having a vehicle repaired is generally the best solution for the driver.

Toyota expects its Write-Off Avoidance Programme to save many more cars this year as drivers look to avoid unnecessary expense, something that will also provide welcome assistance to many bodyshops across the country.
