Delphi releases first-to-market EV brakes

Electric vehicle applications once again feature heavily in Delphi’s latest round of first-to-market braking components.

“EV brakes represent a real opportunity for workshops,” said Carl Lester, Global Product Line Manager at Delphi. “EVs rely much less on self-cleaning hydraulic brakes with regenerative braking doing much of the work. The reduced usage of hydraulic brakes means rust and contaminants accumulate quickly, affecting the brake disc's surface, pad mounting, and caliper components.”

Delphi has now launched first-to-market rear brake pads (Delphi reference number LP5034EV) for Tesla’s Model 3 03/2022 on and brake shoes (Delphi reference number LS2197) for Volkswagen’s ID. Buzz, ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5 01/2021 on.

Delphi continues to release first-to-market premium quality braking parts to the aftermarket, giving workshops access to repair business on newer vehicles sooner, ultimately helping independent garages increase profitability and customer retention.

Other first-to-market braking components recently released by Delphi include front brake pads (Delphi reference number LP3843) for Mercedes-Benz CLE200 and CLE220 10/2023 on, rear brake pads (Delphi reference number LP3695) for Honda’s Jazz 03/2023 on, rear brake shoes (Delphi reference number LS2080) for Volkswagen’s Amarok 09/2022 on.
