A West Donegal company has provided some positive news for the Irish manufacturing sector after announcing that it has secured a multi-million Euro deal with Jaguar Land Rover.

Irish Pressings is based in the Údarás na Gaeltachta Business Park in Derrybeg and its latest contract adds to well established business with other global automotive manufacturers such as Honda, BMW and VW. The company will supply JLR with press tools and parts, with production starting next year.

Irish Pressings was founded in 2005 by brothers Declan and Brendan Ward, who put their tool-making background to great use building an extensive portfolio of business across many sectors, with particular success in automotive. It is now recognised as a leader in the design and manufacture of press-tools, metal stampings, machining and welded assemblies.

The company currently employs 70 staff and the additional business will provide a major boost to the North West economy with an expected 90 additional jobs created over 5 years.

The Ward brothers say they are delighted to have secured the deal with JLR, especially in such challenging times and are optimistic about the future as vehicle manufacturers return to production.
