Ecobat Battery and sister company Ecobat Solutions have teamed up to exhibit at Automechanika Frankfurt from 13th to 17th September, on stand E27 in hall 4.1, to present their combined offering to the European aftermarket and future-proof the sector for the next generation.

Ecobat Battery manages the procurement and sale of energy storage solutions, supplying batteries for a wide range of sectors, including automotive, commercial vehicle, marine, leisure and motorcycle, as well as for industrial applications. It is also the sole European license holder and distributor for Lucas and Rolls batteries and a key distributor for Exide, VARTA, US Battery, Trojan, Optima, Sonnenschein, Tab, among others. In addition to its vast portfolio of products, the company also offers various services to its industrial customers, including battery maintenance contracts, installation and repair.

Operating in partnership with its customers, Ecobat Battery goes beyond merely supplying top-quality batteries to offer an expert service, tailored to their needs, as well as superior aftercare and a closed-loop battery production cycle for responsible battery recycling.

This is where Ecobat Solutions steps in, and not just in the context of lead-acid batteries, but for lithium batteries and electric vehicle (EV) battery packs as well. In fact, the company’s UK site at Darlaston has been disassembling, discharging, re-engineering and recycling lithium batteries for the last 18 months.

To date, it has processed more than 2,000 batteries, which, bearing in mind that all lithium-ion must be transported under strict dangerous goods regulations, is a major achievement. To ensure it can offer a fully-compliant transportation service, it helped to develop a special critical battery transportation box that can be deployed in the event of batteries being damaged or potentially liable to thermal runaway.

This solution, alongside a cutaway example of an EV battery pack, will take centre stage on the combined Ecobat stand, which is sure to draw great interest from visitors hungry to get to grips with the changing complexion of the aftermarket, particularly when it comes to solutions for new energy vehicles.
