Parts specialist Blue Print continues to expand its range of thermostats which now features some 200 replacements in OE quality.
The thermostat performs a critical temperature regulation function on an engine and if it is faulty this can cause serious problems to other engine systems. Blue Print has highlighted a number of key symptoms which may mean a thermostat is not functioning correctly:
Engine overheating/ high temperature reading. – This generally indicates that an insufficient amount of coolant is flowing through the engine because the thermostat is stuck closed.
Engine under-heating/ low temperature reading. – This can indicate that the thermostat is stuck open and not regulating the correct amount of coolant through the engine, keeping the temperature too cool.
Inconsistent temperature. - If the temperature gauge seems to fluctuate, this can mean that the thermostat is failing and isn’t stuck open or closed. This failure can damage the whole coolant system and also the engine.
Coolant Leakage. - This could mean it isn’t allowing the correct amount of coolant to flow through the engine causing it to leak.
If any of these symptoms is present then the thermostat is likely to require replacement. Blue Print thermostats offer an effective and economical solution with all parts manufactured for a right-first-time fit to match OE specification. Blue Print supply nearly 200 thermostats for a wide range of applications, with especially good coverage on Citroën, Land Rover and Mitsubishi vehicles.
